PLAGIARISM POLICY
JAKAP – Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan dan Cakrawala Pembelajaran is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. To ensure the originality of all published works, the journal implements a strict plagiarism policy. All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using, copying, or presenting another person's ideas, words, data, or work without proper acknowledgment or attribution. The following forms of plagiarism are considered unacceptable in JAKAP:
Direct Plagiarism
Copying part or all of a text verbatim without quotation marks, citation, or proper acknowledgment of the original source.
Mosaic Plagiarism
Combining phrases, sentences, or ideas from multiple sources without proper citation, creating the impression of original authorship.
Self-Plagiarism
Reusing one's own previously published work, in whole or in part, without appropriate disclosure, citation, or permission from the previous publisher when required.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism
Rewriting or rephrasing content from another source without providing proper credit to the original author.
2. Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or iThenticate.
The journal applies the following similarity requirements:
- The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references, bibliography, and properly quoted text.
- Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent and nature of the overlap.
- Editorial decisions regarding plagiarism are made at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
3. Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified during the editorial or review process, JAKAP may take the following actions:
Similarity Below 20%
Authors may be requested to revise the manuscript and provide appropriate citations and references where necessary.
Similarity Between 20% and 40%
The manuscript may be returned for substantial revision or rejected, depending on the Editorial Board’s evaluation of the identified overlap.
Similarity Above 40%
The manuscript will be rejected immediately. In serious cases, authors may be prohibited from submitting manuscripts to JAKAP for a specified period.
Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be formally retracted. A retraction notice will be published on the journal website and linked to the article record.
4. Plagiarism Prevention
Authors are expected to take proactive measures to ensure the originality of their manuscripts.
Authors should:
- Ensure that all sources are properly cited and referenced according to the journal’s citation style.
- Conduct a similarity check before submission using appropriate plagiarism detection tools whenever possible.
- Clearly identify and disclose any material adapted from previously published works.
- Ensure that manuscripts derived from conference papers, theses, dissertations, or other prior works contain substantial revisions and provide clear disclosure regarding the relationship between the submitted manuscript and the previous publication.
5. Author Responsibilities
Authors bear full responsibility for the originality and academic integrity of the manuscripts they submit.
By submitting a manuscript to JAKAP – Jurnal Kajian Pendidikan dan Cakrawala Pembelajaran, authors declare that:
- The manuscript is an original work and has not been published elsewhere.
- No part of the manuscript constitutes plagiarism, duplication, fabrication, or unauthorized use of another person's work.
- All sources, quotations, data, and references have been properly acknowledged and cited.
- The manuscript complies with all ethical and academic standards established by the journal.
