PUBLICATION ETHICS

The JHUSE (Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, fairness, and academic integrity in the publication process.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit original works and properly cite all sources. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
  • Authorship and Contribution: Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the research should be listed as authors.
  • Data Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy of data and provide access to raw data if requested for verification.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their work.
  • Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.

2. Duties of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential and not disclose or use any unpublished data.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be constructive, objective, and free from personal bias.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their evaluations within the given timeframe or inform the editor if they are unable to do so.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline the review if necessary.

3. Duties of Editors

  • Fairness and Independence: Editorial decisions are made based on academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or institutional affiliation.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
  • Publication Decisions: Editors are responsible for ensuring that only high-quality, ethical research is published.
  • Handling Misconduct: Editors must take action against plagiarism, data fabrication, and ethical violations, including retractions or corrections when necessary.

4. Ethical Considerations

  • Human and Animal Rights: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical guidelines and obtain appropriate approvals.
  • Correction and Retraction Policy: If significant errors or ethical violations are found after publication, JHUSE will issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern as appropriate.
  • Intellectual Property: Authors retain copyright, but JHUSE holds the right to distribute and archive published articles under an open-access license.
